BEYONG 2020 Supporting Europe’s Coastal Communities – Bulgarian participation in a conference on the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) on 12-13.10.2017 in Tallinn, Estonia

The Estonian Presidency of the EU and the European Commission are jointly hosting a conference on the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) on 12-13.10.2017. Stakeholders from all across the EU will convene to discuss how the EMFF is helping to support the implementation of the Common Fisheries Policy and Maritime Policy in the current programming period (2014-2020). The event will also represent the opportunity to discuss the current and future challenges of coastal communities, as well as potential policy responses.

Expert from SP CONSULT BG Ltd.  was nominated for participation in a conference on the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF), which will present the results of the implementation of the pilot project “Small-scale fishing support measures” financed by the European Commission. The project, which amounts to € 177,767, starts in the beginning of 2016 and will end this year.

Our participation will be focused on the three main themes:
• Fisheries;
• Subsidies;
• Result-oriented activities.
In his presentation, the expert from SP CONSULT BG Ltd will present the project implementation, the results achieved, the lessons learned, shared good practices and new challenges.

For SP CONSULT BG Ltd. it is important to hear the members of the newly established European Association of Fishermen in the Black Sea  within the project, small-scale fishermen from Bulgaria and Romania for the protection of the Black Sea, for the economic prosperity of the fishermen from this region.

The event also will be provided an opportunity for discussion on the current and future challenges of coastal communities, and a potential policy response too.
