Today, October 5, the chairman of the European Fisheries Association of the Black Sea Dr. Dimitrina Kostova took part in the online forum “Port facilities – a key factor for sustainable development of Black Sea fisheries” , organized by the Black Sea Advisory Council together with the NGO ” Mare Nostrum “. It addressed issues related to the European directive on port facilities and the issue of marine litter. The purpose of the workshop was to identify ways to effectively manage waste from fishing activities, as well as awareness in solving this problem, good practices and solutions for marine litter disposal.
The participants agreed that the topic should continue and that a network of fishing communities from Romania and Bulgaria should be established to report and be ready to collect marine litter, thus assisting the public authorities.
